《梳子的话》("Comb")

I heard this song 《梳子的话》("Comb") over the radio on a Sunday afternoon. It's been a long time since I last heard this song. The singer was also  张克凡 (Jonathan Chang). Lyrics were written by 陈志文 (Chen Zhiwen) and 庄立帆 (Zhuang Lifan) and the music was composed by Zhuang Lifan.

It seemed to me that this is a song about a boy's unrequited love for a girl and no love confession was ever made. He was happy and contented just to stay at her side to share her love problems.

which can be translated as:

Let me just be like a comb
Combing the tangles of your love troubles
I am only concerned about being in your hands
To tidy the messiness of your love problems
Let me just be like a comb
Dressing up a tearful you
I am not bothered whether you have noticed
My quiet way of loving you
If I am your most beloved comb
I am willing to follow you for a lifetime
When you are lonely I am just beside you

Keeping you company
If I am your most beloved comb
I would rather follow you for a lifetime
Day and night I am forever placed near you
Unspoken love

Even if we cannot begin
Just let me love you forever

New way of Storing Clothes in drawers

I accidentally chanced upon a video on organization of clothes in drawers. I thought that was a good idea. I had never thought of storing my clothes in this way. So I started with the drawer where I put my home clothes using the folding techniques shown in the video link https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0rbogDaB-n0.

As there were differences in the size of drawers used and the size of my clothes, I didn't follow all the steps exactly when folding, but the basic idea was there in the video. After folding, I placed them vertically and each piece of clothing can stand on its own as shown in the picture below.

This new way of storing clothes was much better. Previously, the clothes on top would inevitably get messy if I dug further in to choose the clothes that I wanted to wear. As a result, clothes that were placed way at the bottom tend to be forgotten and not worn for a long time. Now, I can see everything at one glance and take the piece that I want to wear without messing up the rest. Besides that, it also frees up more space with this way of storing clothes.

After that, I also reorganized Ardon's drawers and it did free up a lot of space too.

I took one step further and organized the drawers where the face towels, hand towels, big handkerchiefs and small handkerchiefs were placed. It now looked more organized and it's easy to find the face towels, hand towels, big handkerchiefs and small handkerchiefs. This was especially important for this particular chest of drawers because, somehow, the drawers could not be opened fully, which made it even harder to find the stuff we wanted with the previous storing method.

I am quite happy with this result. The only problem was it took a little more effort to fold it in the right way but is worth the slightly extra effort. This method of folding is also useful for packing luggage.

DIY Hair Ties/Bracelet Holder

I had an old cushion cover that was no longer in use. The cloth used for this cushion cover had a shiny surface that looked like silk and I had wanted to do something else with it since I liked the cloth. Last weekend, I had an idea. I had found an old calendar stand hidden on Lynn's desk. So I decided to do a hair tie/bracelet holder for Sera.

I cut the cushion cover and placed it over the old calendar stand. Then I used 4 pieces of elastic bands to tie the cloth to the front and back of the stand (you can also use string). I slid some curtain hooks on the elastic bands and put the hair ties on the hooks sorted by colours. This was how it looked.

I added some hair clips on it as shown in the picture below.

For thicker hair ties, you would need bigger hooks. On the other side of the stand, I hung some of Sera's bracelets as shown in the picture below.

Sera was happy with this too.:)
